Got to download correctly when I finally took the time to answer the prompts.
Canon 7d firmware update procedure upgrade#
Then got to 2.0.3 upgrade and put it into the camera and went about some other business.
Canon 7d firmware update procedure iso#
It DID require a reset of the day/date and the ISO Auto Max value if you don't want 3200Īctually no, updated to 2.0 about a month ago.

cusa/professional/products/professional_cam.Ĭongrats, was this you first upgrade, just curious Anyone out there getting the same thing? Could be my camera is not downloading the new firmware? I updated my 7d but after update it says 2.0.0. A shame as there are some nice Sigmas.Ĭanon DOES NOT have a history of "creating problems for Sigma".rather, Sigma has a history of releasing product that is NOT PROPERLY reverse-engineered.shame on Sigma (not Canon)Īgain, Canon IS NOT doing it "just to Sigma" but the other companies (Tamron, Tokina) have simply done a much better job of reverse engineering.again, shame on Sigma.I saw this today. Canon has a history of creating problems for Sigma lens. A shame as there are some nice Sigmas.ĭo they do that to just Sigma, or do they do it to the other lens companies like Tamron? Second point, Canon has a history of creating problems for Sigma lens. įirst off has it affected your Canon lens? I have some other Sigma lenses that I'll now test after reading this. I upgraded my 7D and have had no focus issues before or after with my recently acquired Sigma 150-500. Same here and also the reason I don't use Sigma lenses anymore. So, if you dial in a short distance MA, often the AF will be off at longer distances. It is well known with this lens that many copies focus well under 10ft, but are out focus at 10 ft +. Is it possible your distance was different between your two MA adjustments? Of course they're Canon optics not Sigmas. I updated my 7D to 1.2.2 and all my lenses focus exactly the same as before.

I strongly suspect the Sigma's backwards engineered FW code needs a flash or rechip, not the 7D.

The remainder I had to sell cheap or use as paperweights. Only one-50 2.8 EX-had a chip available for an upgrade. I had 6 Sigmas rendered useless when I bought a new EOS. Hope your lens continues to work well for you. Years ago, my Sigma lenses were rendered useless with modern Canon bodies (with no 're-chipping' available for my particular lenses).I still fear these kinds of issues with any 3rd party product but most notably with Sigma. I don't have an answer for you.I have no idea if a firmware upgrade on the camera body can have such a dramatic MA effect on your lens. However, it is because of the worry of 'future' compatibility issues that have kept me away from any more Sigma lenses or accessories. After the update it looks like it now needs a micro adjustment of +20. I just installed the 1.2.2 firmware update and before the update my Sigma 50 1.4 needed a micro adjustment of +3. You probably can downgrade from 1.2.2 to 1.2.1, although I've never gone down in version myself. Does this make sense Is it possible to go back to the older firmware version?ĭoes not make sense, based on the v1.2.2 published changes.
